John Borén, Founder and Managing Member of RÄV, has over 30 years of EHS experience. Areas of EHS expertise include environmental, safety and health compliance auditing, management systems, hazardous waste, DOT shipping, storm water, waste water, TSCA, climate change (including 3rd party verification, offset validation, GHG inventory), air permitting, and health and safety compliance.
John’s experience includes time in the trenches at multiple manufacturing facilities, as well as consulting extensively for many different sectors, including upstream oil and gas, automotive, manufacturing, publishing, Department of Defense, waste disposal, forestry and chemicals. This background provides a unique empathy and understanding of how it really works.
John is a registered professional engineer (TN, AL, AR, MS, KY, KS, OH), a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Certified Fire Inspector, a Level I TN Certified Professional Erosion Control Specialist, an OSHA-authorized General Industry and Construction 10/30 hour outreach trainer, and an ISO14001/ISO45001 Lead Auditor.
Ms. Andrea Ross earned her BS degree in finance and economics and managed various small businesses for ten years, before deciding she wanted to have a more impactful career and returned to school for a Master’s degree in Sustainability. Andrea is now a LEED BD+C certified professional and is pursuing experience and training in the environmental, health, and safety field.
Andrea has experience with air sampling, procedure development, and report writing. She is hands-on, friendly and easy-going, as well as a passionate and quick learner. In her spare time, Andrea is an avid traveler and cyclist with a new adventure always on the horizon.
Luke Borén is a senior Civil and Environmental Engineering student at Tennessee Technological University. Through 3 years of experience as a summer/winter intern with RÄV, Luke has developed exceptional professionalism skills as well as a variety of technical skills. Luke has experience with IH air sampling, safety and environmental compliance audits, ISO 9001/14001/45001, and report generation. As an emerging engineer, he strives to further his education and professional career on a daily basis.
